Our portable sawmill can come right to you or you can bring your logs to us!
If a storm brings down a tree on your family property we can mill it into wood for you to create a lifetime keepsake.
No matter how big or small the logs, we are excited to turn them into milled, usable wood product. Whether for your personal projects or to remove unwanted logs from your property, we are the mill to call.
Please reach us at MorgansSawmill@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
For onsite milling there is a $50 setup fee and the cost for milling is $100 per hour, with a two hour minimum.
There is no setup charge or hourly minimum if the logs are brought to me at my location in Rockford Michigan to be milled, I have equipment to unload and load your trailer at my site if needed.
Cash, Check, Zelle or Venmo. Payment is due in-full the day of milling. Sorry I do not accept credit cards or debt cards.
TimberKing 2000 computerized fully hydraulic sawmill, cant hooks, and fuel. My rate assumes you or someone you have hired will be present for the duration to stack lumber. I do not stop the mill to move/stack lumber. I can provide labor for an additional fee.
Usually 2-5 logs/hour depending on: size, position of logs, cuts desired, and cleanliness of the logs. All branches should be trimmed flush prior to my arrival. Dirty logs dull blades quickly which results in slower cutting and more down time while changing blades. Dirt can be removed with a wire brush or power washer prior to my arrival.
Yes, but only to locations more than 30 minutes from my location in Rockford MI.
Nails, screws, and stones can break a blade and you will be billed at $30 per blade. Excessively dirty logs may also incur blade charges
No. I can however, roll them with a cant hook. A tractor (if you have one) with forks or grapple greatly speeds up the log loading/lumber moving process. If there is a large quantity of logs, or you plan to make beams/thick slabs, renting a machine like a mini skid steer can make milling go much faster.
Mill capacity is 32”diameter x 19ft long. It is a fully hydraulic, computerized sawmill so turning logs, leveling logs, and clamping logs, is all performed by the machine.
Contact me to request a copy of my Sawmill Area Requirements document or download the document below. This provides a detailed picture of the space and site conditions required for on-site milling.
The big box stores sell 1x2 furring strips in bundles that make great “stickers” for drying lumber. Any narrow strips ripped on a table saw will work as well. Stickers should be placed every couple feet between layers of lumber to allow air to flow through. Lumber should be stacked off the ground a few inches to allow airflow as well. 4x4’s or concrete blocks make a good base for stacking.
No I do not but I work closely with Arbor Custom Kilns located in Greenville MI 616-401-2992
